Crash BLANDicoot

Woah!
As a spur of the moment idea, I've decided to give Crash Bandicoot guns.

Contrary to the name, this game was actually really fun to work on. With this project I had a split second where I just blurted out to my friend group, "What if Crash had dual Glock 19s?". Then it hit me, Why Not? I have the tools to make something as outlandish as that so why not.

The way the game works is that it first shoots you into a standard platforming level, you can do crash's spin attack, jump, run and collect Wumpa Fruit like normal Crash Bandicoot, but as soon as you complete the first level, that's when the gun mechanic is introduced. The player can pick up a gun powerup (shown as 2 floating spinning guns) which then gives Crash guns for 30 seconds. Within that time, using the bullets they can get a "rocket jump" (like in Quake or Team Fortress 2) but with a bullet model instead of a rocket / explosion.


For this project I was responsible for:

• Ideation
• Research
• Visual Scripting (Blueprint)
• Modelling (Putting Glock 19s into a model Crash + Bullet Model)
• UI Creation
• Testing


Overall if I were to work on this again, I would add more levels that focus on the gun power up, on top of this I would add proper controller support.
