About Me
I'm Joseph Thacker, a indie game developer and a 2nd year student studying Computer Games Technologies at Sheffield Hallam University. I´m proficient in programming, troubleshooting, and IT support, with hands-on experience in maintaining radio broadcasting systems while back home from university. I have a foundation in creating and manipulating textures through Photoshop, as well as being proficient in GitHub for source control.
I first got my start in game development at college while using Unreal Engine and Maya, however as time went on I favoured to use the open source 3D modelling software Blender and have since stuck with it for the past 3 years. While my main strengths lie in Unreal Engine and blueprints, I do have 2 years of Unity and C# under my belt which gives me options when a project is first starting in terms of what engine I should favour.
Outside of game development I am an IT Technician for my local community radio station Takeover Radio 106.9fm, which allows me to help maintain live 24/7 broadcast throughout my local area. As well as this it helps my troubleshooting and problem-solving skills when things inevitable go wrong which I can transfer back into my game development role.
I am dedicated in pursuing a career within the games industry. Currently based in Sheffield, I am constantly honing my skills in game development.
